On this past Sunday, I posed the question of will my girls have school on Monday. With temperatures reaching into the negative numbers, I was not convinced school would go on... and it did NOT!
Was there a such thing as a COLD DAY, like the infamous SNOW DAY??? YES! The city of Chicago experienced on Monday, January 6th, 2014 the coldest day since 1988!!!
OH MY GOODNESS!!!
Needless to say, me & my family stayed indoors ALL day (and the NEXT for the girls)!!! It was awesome!!!
On Tuesday, January 7th, 2014, I left home at 7:50am, and what normally is a 45 minute commute into downtown Chicago, took me 90 minutes to achieve! Travelling in still negative numbers, (though -4 is hardly -25) I got to work around 9:30!!!
| The HUGE chunks of ICE on the tracks at my train stop! |
| Sooooo many people waiting for the SAME train!!! |
I can honestly say that that was an adventure! Five trains pulled into the station too crowded to get on. Lucky number six managed to hold me along with hundreds of other Chicagoans headed to wherever all those people were going!
